sweet baby fisher

3 May

A few weekends ago, a group of girls gathered together to celebrate Allison and baby Fisher.  Gosh, aren’t babies are sweet? (Don’t get any ideas here people!)  It was so nice to finally see Allison and her freaking adorable baby bump!  It’s crazy to think that the next time I see her, she’ll be a momma (officially) and I’ll get to see that sweet little nugget.  I couldn’t be happier for her little family and am so glad I was able to co-host this shower to “shower her with love”!

Here’s me and the beautiful momma

Sarah and I made some pretty adorable shower favors (if I don’t say so myself) via pinterest.

Baby items are seriously adorable and Allison was glowing!

I LOVE when we do showers because everyone is back together 🙂

Alison & The Hostesses

I went a little crafty for my shower gift and made a diaper bicycle…complete of course, with a sock monkey!!  Doesn’t get much cuter than that (obviously via pinterest).  I’m proud that I actually remembered to take a picture before the shower!

Baby Fisher could make his apperance any day now!  Can’t wait!!

sweet summertime

1 May

On Friday, we headed downtown Greenville for the Chicken Wing Cook Off.  The rain couldn’t stop us!  We bought a bunch of tickets and were able to sample a lot of different style chicken wings.  Chris was so proud because I actually ate them without making him pick off the chicken.  (I don’t know why but eating chicken off the bone just really freaks me out!)  We were all looking for a wing to just light our mouths on fire and boy did we find it on our last wing…the habanero chicken wing from this guy:

Can you say HOT!?

Even though it was a dreary night, downtown greenville was beautiful as always

After we used all of our tickets, we headed over to Fords to have a couple beers and play some pool.  A bunch of our friends ended up showing up, so we had a blast!

We spent Saturday at the Tanoury’s pool…the first of many wonderful pool days to come!

We had TONs of good laughs too….especially during dinner.  Chris will NOT be outdone for a bet.

Mud Run 2012

25 Apr

two months since my last post – sheesh?!?  well friends, I’ve been a terrible blogger lately.  I’ll try to be better!

Chris, Sarah, Eric & I successfully completed the 2012 Goodwill Mud Run on April 14.  It was exteremely disgusting (I had mud in places that mud should NEVER be) but I had SO much fun!  The mud run is a 3.5 mile course which has a series of 35 military style obstacles.  The obstacles ranged from six foot walls to low crawls to tire runs to balance beams to fireman’s carries and everywhere in between.

We were NO where near as graceful when it came to the last obstacles as the group in this video – but it’s the best I could find online.  People weren’t allowed inside the course to take video and we didn’t have anyone there taking photos or video (next year), so this shows the beginning and the last four obstacles of the course.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

Happy 26th Chris!

Chris is officially old! Just kidding….he would say he is “distinguished.” I am not sure why but this birthday is a little scary for me! We are now all officially closer to 30 than 20. Don’t you remember being in high school and thinking 30 sounded so old and far away?? Well…time flies when you are having fun! Anyways, back to Chris’s birthday….

Getting Chris to tell you what he wants to go or wants for any special occasion is virtually impossible and like pulling teeth! He finally said he wanted to have people over to watch our basketball game (56 losing streak at UNC…wow), head to Paisanos for dinner and then out to Bubba Annie’s for a night on the town!

Here are some pictures from our night!

hi, my name is holly and I am addicted to pinterest

29 Jan

Isn’t the first step to fixing something about yourself admitting that you have a problem?  Well readers (all 10 of you), I am officially addicted to pinterest.  I have been a “member” for a while but didn’t realize how A-MAH-ZING it was until about two weeks ago!  So much so, that Chris is def annoyed with me saying “you won’t believe what I saw today on pinterest” or “you have to see this recipe I saw on pinterest.”  He has been boycotting all things pinterest-related as well.  Even if it was the coolest thing ever, he just goes “meh” and acts completely uninterested.  Anyways, I thought I would share a few of my favorite things I’ve found so far – I am SURE there will be plenty more pinterest related posts on this blog!

Who doesn’t LOVE the Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs?  You can call me crazy but they totally taste better than the classic cups.  Well ladies and gentleman, I found a recipe to make homemade ones..

Does that not look amazing?  I am trying to hold off until Easter to try out this recipe, but they look so delicious…I might not be able to wait!  I am thinking about creating a post series called “pins brought to life”, “pinterest in the real world” or something like that (ideas are welcome) so I can show everyone how my creative DIY projects turn out!

If you are my friend, you know that I am OBSESSED with the chocolate chip pizza from Pizza Inn.  We go there sometimes on Fridays at work and I can eat my weight of that stuff (I’m talking 3-5 pieces depending on the day).  I screeched when I saw this recipe on someone’s board – Chris and I bought the ingredients at the grocery tonight and WILL be making it this week!  (It was my reward for completing my resolutions for the previous week..3 times at the gym and one blog post – go me!)

I will post a picture of our dessert pizza sometime soon!

Now – the craft ideas are endless.  I mean endless.  My DIY list has tripled in size in the past two weeks.  Here are some things that WILL be coming to the Jones house soon!

I will leave you with a funny….I am determined to find these before super bowl parties this upcoming weekend.  How funny would the pictures be?

cheers to the freaking weekend (yea, yea)

27 Jan

thats a rhianna song that has been stuck in my head all day…prepare yourself for a completely random post.

I found this next article on a college friend’s facebook page. it’s absolutely hilarious. It’s called “What your American Girl Doll Says About The Rest of Your Life.” Read it here. I remember begging for my first American doll for what seemed like FOREVER in little kid years and ended up with Addy. Like it said in the article, she clearly had the best story line and I was obsessed with her! After I had a proven track record of good doll upkeep, mom let me get another one! This time I got Kiersten…just because she looked like me 😉

For Christmas, I made the last name letter photo frames for people! I went around and took pictures of various things in nature that looked like letters. Here is one of the beauties:

If you are interested in one, let me know! I can make it for WAY less than those other guys!!!

And finally….I GOT the new iPhone 4s and have written this entire post on it! Ohhh yeaa!!

I’ll leave you with a Rooney picture, because quite frankly….what could be better?

spoken like a true pyromaniac

17 Jan

Happy 2012 Everyone!  I have a gut feeling that it’s going to be a great one!

We wanted to do something new, fun & different to ring in 2012!  We looked into all-inclusive hotel party package; however, the hotel wasn’t too keen on us trying to cram 6+ people in a “strictly two person room.”  So – we starting looking at my favorite idea ever….and off we to went to Asheville for our NYE cabin adventure!  After everyone arrived on Friday, we started making dinner and hanging out!  The three story condo was SUPER nice!

After dinner, the room was split between by boys/girls (like we are in the fifth grade – WHY does that always happen?)  June told us about a tradition her group of friends do when someone new gets engaged.  Everyone gives the new bride their wedding rings and takes a picture like the following (the new bride’s ring would be at the bottom)….

It didn’t really work for us because we are all old married ladies BUT it still looks amazing!  Talk about some bling!! Can you guess who belongs to each ring?  (You can pick from: June, Holly, Laurie, Christi & Kelly)

Our night eventually turned into a old school songs dance party!

Kelly introduced us to the greatest game ever.  Put a vanilla wafer on your head and try to get it into your month by only moving your face muscles.  Absolutely THE most hysterical thing EVER!! (Thanks to Kelly’s Aunt Jill & YouTube).

The next morning while the boys went to play golf, the girls vegged out on the pullout downstairs while watching Bridesmaids.  When the guys got home, Mark & Chris went out a scavenger hunt for wood.  We needed to make sure we had enough to keep our bonfire going all night!

The weekend wasn’t entirely drama free, we had an intense leak under the kitchen sink (which was on the second floor) that had leaked all the way downstairs causing water to pour out of the ceiling fan.  No worries – crisis adverted when the maintenance man came out!  (We definitely felt bad because who wants to work on NYE?!)  We ended up not being to able to use the kitchen sink to clean up dinner and the smell the next morning was vomit inducing but…hey, not our problem, right?? 😉  The girls got a picture together before heading out to the bonfire…

The fire pit was AWESOME!  So awesome, the neighbors even came out the celebrate with us.  Here’s June making smores for me (my fav)

Our phrase by the fire was “spoken like a true pyromaniac” because we were all enchanted by the flames and poking the fire!  Check out a few pictures (I absolutely love playing around with my new camera settings if you can’t tell)

Getting ready to ring in the new year (love my girls)

I told you we made friends by the fire….here’s a group shot of everyone right before we all went inside to watch the ball drop.  Funny coincidence though, they were all Michigan State fans and hit it off with Eric!

So happy to be ringing in the new year with my hubby for the second time as a married couple and the eighth time since we started dating.  (Gah – we are getting old!!)  LOVE HIM!

Here’s the first picture of everyone in 2012!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

It’s officially a tradition.  The numbers we are holding up are the number of NYEs we have been together.

  • Blog at least once a week (i’m doing soo good on this one!!)
  • Hit the gym at least three times a week (eeekkk – I am definitely behind on this one)
  • Floss every other day (my dentist and the Prices will be happy about this one)

I actually have some really fun things to post – until then, see ya 🙂

what a week

11 Jan

It’s only Wednesday night, but I feel like it’s Friday mid afternoon and I am already down for the count.  I was given a new initiative at work and it’s really gotten the best of me.  Over the past six weeks, I have been working like a dog to prepare for a presentation (which was today).  Well friends, my co-worker and I rocked it out during an hour and a half presentation today.  You read that right…an hour and a half of straight presenting, showing examples, taking questions and listening to the sales force of my company talking about a new project!

I am SUPER excited to be done with the presentation and ready to move on!!!!  Especially since I didn’t get home from work until 8:15pm last night.

For the sales meeting, we met in the “tap room” of Olde Mecklenburg Brewery in Charlotte.  We were able to take a tour, do a tasting and hang out after the sales presentation.  We even went to a Charlotte Checkers game afterwards!

Right now, I am laying in a KING size hotel room, watching Dance Moms (my new guilty pleasure) and about to go to sleep.  Although I am missing Chris and Rooney Spantoony – I really miss the snuggle time!

I will resume regularly schedule programming later this week.
